Family gathering




Now that is what I call a hunk of meat. Half a little lambie, slow roasted and on a bed of  basmati rice studded with almonds, raisins and yet more minced lamb. Ordered from an Iraqi place on the North Shore to feed a family gathering we had over the weekend. You need that fresh tabbouleh to cut through it all. My mother in-law is visiting from the Middle East for a month, which means lots of feasting as the family gets together to catch up. Plus she is doing a lot of cooking for us – happily for us. Perhaps not so happily for my waistline…
